The Trail Beaters
hereby introduce this wonderful package to Sikkim,
the 22nd state within the Indian union.

Sandwiched between the kingdoms of Nepal in the west
and Bhutan in the east, Sikkim borders with the
plateau of Tibet in the north and shares its southern
border with the state of West Bengal, Gangtok being
its capital town. Gangtok is situated at 5000 ft.
above the sea level and is connected with Siliguri,
the nearest Air/ Rail head. Sikkim remained a
protectorate of India with a monarchy government in
power till it became an integral part of India in the
year 1975.
With a small population of around 5 lacs, Sikkim still
represents the fairytale picture of the Himalayan
region like towering mountains all-round, deep gorges
and ravines, dense forests and the skyline studded
with conifer trees of different varieties, massive
water falls and rivers, snow capped peaks and
glaciers, frozen lakes, lush meadows and vast
stretches of flowering jungles and bushes. The
unspoiled natural beauty of the region leaves one
completely stunned. Buddhism, the faith of the
majority in this area blends perfectly with nature,
peace and tranquility.
The package has specially been designed keeping in
mind the exploratory intellect of travelers and covers
the following places of interest:
Religious Establishments

Rumtek Monastery - The seat of his holiness the
Karmapa Lama.
Do Drul Chorten - A monastery built in the form
of a stupa.

facility for the students of Buddhism.

God Hanuman at an altitude of 7200 ft.

orchids and other flora.

main market known for local artifices.

on the Chinese border, Nathula remained the major pass
until Sino-India war in 1962 connecting Tibet and
Sikkim.

ft., 35 km. from Gangtok, this wonderful lake is
sacred to Sikkimese, also known for the scenic beauty.

a new dimension to your knowledge bank. Sometimes a
massive waterfall and somewhere a dense forest, next
may be the lush paddy fields filled with water

Himalayan village or a small township with red cheek
children playing around or people waiting for the
local transport at the road heads. As you proceed, in
